Movie malnutrition

After watching a particular movie trailer on tv earlier, I realised that I've lost my leisure time for visit to the movies. If I am certain, the last was Hide and Seek. A quick flip on my planner, time wasn't actually the reason. Most of the other days I actually do have enough time, but the problem is actually (sad enough) a movie partner (or groupie).

How many of us make a habit of going across the border to get some cheap video discs of the latest title to appear on the silver screen, here or anywhere else. Ofcourse, picture quality is not a priority if you fall on the above lot. We'll be missing the staple surround sound, the occasional laughter of the crowd, the total ambience of movie watching in a cinema. I'm not an ambassador of the MDA, but I personally feel that it is always best to be original. Most of my friends love movies. Like you and me, always anticipate the latest flick, or any other that is coming the screen. Unfortunately I had difficulty tagging them to watch one, it's either they're not keen to watch the particular title, or they may have already watched it .

Just the other day I've asked a particular friend of mine if he'd like to catch this movie which is opening in a week or so. He said he'd watch it. I wasn't surprised. Furthermore, he'd be happy to come along if I bought the tics for him, on my own pocket money.

I don't mind that, but it seems that I'm stuck with the same situation most of the time, with 75% of the people around me. Where are the true movie-goers (around me atleast) gone?

My planner says it all, it's not the tight schedule. Unless I can make a habit of going alone, which is somethng I'n not used to then I might not suffer from movie malnutrition anymore.
